An animated explainer for Centre for Personalised Medicine.
Polygenic Risk Score (PRS) is an overall score of how at risk a person is to certain genetic diseases. Patient DNA is compared to large study groups to calculate risk. Heart disease and diabetes are the most common genetic diseases. Using PRS, doctors can better prescribe medicines or therapies to patients for a healthier future.
